Microsoft Xbox 360

Microsoft Xbox 360

1. In the Xbox Dashboard, using the left stick or round pad on your controller, go to the “System” tab, then “Family Settings,” and press the green A button to access “Console Controls.”
2. Press the green A button again to select “Game Ratings.” Select the maximum ESRB rating level you deem appropriate for your children by pressing the green A button.
3. Go to “Set Pass Code” and press the green A button twice, at which point you must enter a 4-button pass code using the Xbox controller
buttons. Select a question and answer in case you forget or want to reset your pass code.
4. Select “Done” on both the “Set Pass Code” and “Console Controls” screens to save your settings.
5. Select “Yes, Save Changes” to activate.
You can also use “Console Controls” to:
  • Activate the “Family Timer” to limit the total amount of time the console can be used per day or week
  • Manage access to Microsoft’s online service “Xbox Live”
  • Block access to movie DVDs by MPAA rating
  • Hide restricted content (e.g., downloadable games,
trailers and demos) in “Xbox Live Marketplace”
and “Inside Xbox”
Other tips about Xbox Live:
  • You may want to set up a separate “Xbox Live” account for each child in your family
  • “ Xbox Live Controls” (found in “Family Settings”) also allow you to:
• Permit or block access to online games (select “Online Gameplay”)
• Manage whom your child can communicate and play with and by
what means (voice, text and/or video) (select “Privacy and Friends”)

Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360 - It's finally here

Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360 - It's finally here

Kinect comes available as a $149.99 standalone device, but should you want to purchase it along with an Xbox 360, there are two additional options. Microsoft sells a $299 bundle that pairs Kinect with a 4GB Xbox 360, as well as a $399 bundle that packages Kinect with a 250GB system. I like the flexibility here, as it gives gamers many options for getting in on Microsoft's motion action. You won't need an Xbox Live subscription to use Kinect, but you can use Kinect's motion navigation with several of Xbox Live Gold features, such as ESPN.

After three years of development, evolving from a rumor to a product that's made headlines with high-profile appearances on Oprah, Ellen, and The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, Kinect for Microsoft Xbox 360 (formerly Project Natal) is a reality. finally It's here

XBOX 360

XBOX 360

The Xbox 360 offers high-definition video and surround sound gaming, but only if you take
advantage of the right connections.

Capable of HDTV-quality video (up to 1080i) and true 5.1 channel surround sound, Xbox 360 is more than
a console, it's a medium. Monster GameLink A/V Cables are officially licensed by Microsoft® and certified
by THX™ to provide the most detailed and
accurate presentation from Xbox 360.
• The Xbox 360 uses a proprietary connector
to output audio and video signals so you cant
hook it up to you TV or AV receiver with
standard AV cable. Monster GameLink AV
Cables for Xbox 360 are the only the cables
to feature this exclusive connector and are
exclusively licensed by Microsoft.

• Whether connecting to an HD-capable or
non-HD TV, the best video connection you
can make from the Xbox is a Component
Video connection. This is the only Xbox 360
connection that will deliver high-definition
video to an HD-capable TV.

• If your TV doesn't have component video
inputs, the next best video connection is an
S-Video connection. This connection type
can’t deliver high-definition, but it will offer
higher resolution gaming than basic compos-
ite video connections.

• Audio quality is critical in creating the best
gaming experience. Xbox 360 offers games
in full digital surround sound. The only way to
experience this is by connecting a Monster
GameLink Fiber Optic Cable for Xbox 360 to
your AV receiver.

• If you don't have a surround sound system,
you can still enjoy impressive sound from
your Xbox 360 with Monster GameLink Xbox
360 cables that feature stereo audio connec-
tions.

• To ensure reliable connectivity for the
console's network and peripheral connec-
tions, be sure to use Monster Ethernet and
USB cables, for lightning-fast throughput and
freedom from game-stopping glitches.
